Meet the Cast of Twelfth Night: Ashley

1) Where are you from? How did you end up here (or why did you stay)?

I'm from Lake Linden, Michigan. It's a small town just north of Houghton (not to be confused with Houghton Lake!). College brought me all the way down here (it's an eight hour drive), and I'm planning on staying because I've fallen in love with Grand Rapids. I couldn't imagine being anywhere else right now.

2) Where did you study acting?

I studied theatre for a few years at Grand Valley, but have since switched to Finance.

3) What theaters have you worked with? Describe a favorite role/production:

I've worked with GVSU Theatre in some capacity on most of their productions between the 2012-2014 seasons. Before that I worked with Michigan Tech University Theatre, The Calumet Players, Lake Linden - Hubbell High School Drama Club, and a few inter-high school productions back in the U.P. I'd say one of my favorite roles was Prince Edward in GVSU Theatre's Richard III, because it awoke my interest in Shakespeare. Since then, I haven't been able to get enough.

4) What do you do in your free time?

Between work, theatre, and school when it's in session, I don't get a whole lot of free time. When I do actually get a few moments for myself, I like to spend it causing trouble with friends, cooking, or reading.

5) Share three “fun facts” about yourself:

- My native language is actually sarcasm

-On more nights than I'm willing to admit, you can probably find me at the Grand Rapids Brewing Company.

-I have a tattoo.
